River Garden CS2 is
the second phase of construction in the River Garden
neighborhood at the site of the former St. Thomas Housing
Development. This phase of new construction created 310
mixed-income townhouses and four-story residential buildings
and includes the construction of 25,094 sq ft of retail space on
the first floor. The development was designed with special
attention to New Orleans historic architectural detail, including
balconies and courtyards. The units feature energy-saving
insulation, off-street parking, 24-hour maintenance, on-site
property management and a neighborhood watch
patrol.
The River Garden Community was created through the HOPE VI Redevelopment of the former St. Thomas Housing Development.
