HISTORY/OVERVIEW:
By combining new construction
with the historic Gateway-Statler Hotel and Lennox Hotel,
HRI created a worldclass convention headquarters hotel
that enabled St. Louis to more effectively compete for
conventions on a national basis. The hotel is operated by an
affiliate of Marriott International, Inc. on a long-term basis. The
property is located directly across Washington Avenue in downtown
St. Louis from the convention center. The property includes a
38,000 square-foot ballroom and 8,000 square feet of retail space.
Climate controlled access exists between the hotel and
ballroom/parking garage via a tunnel under 9th Street, so as
to maintain the historic character of the
neighborhood.
