Karl Munster
Vice President, Finance

Karl is a native of New Orleans where he graduated from the University of New Orleans (UNO) with a B.S. in Accounting in 1984. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Louisiana and a Certified Hospitality Accountant Executive. He has twenty plus years of hotel experience at both the property, area and ownership perspective.
After graduating
from UNO, Karl worked in public accounting with Pannell Kerr
Forster and Charlet and Smith for four years before taking a
position as Assistant Controller at the 732 room Fairmont New
Orleans. Since that time he served as the Controller at
several New Orleans hotels including the Fairmont, Chateau Sonesta,
Radisson and Wyndham Canal Place. In addition he has worked at
the ownership level for two real estate development companies,
Joseph C. Canizaro in New Orleans and Atlantia Holding Corporation
in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
He has worked with
HRI Lodging, Inc. since November 2005 and is currently the Vice
President of Finance overseeing the financial operations
of six hotels. He is a former member of the Hospitality
Financial and Technology Professionals Global Board of
Directors. He previously served as a Trustee on the Louisiana
Restaurant Association’s Self-Insurers Fund Board of Trustees
for nine years.
