HISTORY/OVERVIEW:
Built as the first
private African American hospital, Flint Goodridge is rich with
medical care and professional development history. New
Orleans' first three African American mayors were born at
Flint Goodridge. Flint Goodridge suffered extensive roof and
water damage from Hurricane Katrina and underwent complete
renovation in 2007. Exterior preservation included the repair
of stucco and brick and the refurbishment of the original
historical doors and windows.
