Cotton Mill Condominiums was
the redevopment of a New Orleans Warehouse District site consisting
of an 1882 cotton mill, 19th century residences, and 1860 brewery
and a 1765 Creole plantation into apartments and condos. The
apartments were converted into one, two and three bedroom condos in
2007.
In 1997, HRI was awarded the
Multifamily rehabilitation project award for the entire country for
the renovation of this building. Built of heavy timber and masonry,
architectural features include 17-18 foot celings with exposed
cypress beams, wood floors, iron connectors, exposed pipes,
and exposed masonry. The property also features a 25,000
squarefoot courtyard, a renovated water tower, pool, party room and
a state of the art exercise facility. The Cotton Mill offers 8,000
square feet commercial space.
