Project Description &
The creation of the Capitol Art Lofts will be a significant rehabilitation of a collection of historic properties. The project is composed of an intact grouping of architecturally significant commercial buildings constructed between 1885 and 1929 along W. Capitol Street which will be converted into 31 affordable residential units of artist housing, community areas and art gallery/studio space. In addition to a leasing preference for artists, the project will also provide a preference for medical industry workers. Amenities include common studio/art gallery space, business center and fitness center. The development is located across the street from the successful King Edward/Standard Life Mixed-Use Project and will further the revitalization of the western side of Downtown Jackson, Mississippi.
